In April 2006, Elora Geier, a 7th-grader in the North Allegheny School District, lost her life after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Elora faced her illness bravely as she had faced so many other challenges in her life. Before she was two years old, she was hit by a car and sustained a brain injury. But, her academic and physical struggles did not stop her “can do” attitude and her loving spirit. Elora brought out the best in others and Elora’s H.O.P.E. Fund wants to continue this tall order.
Elorapalooza 11 Memorial Run/Walk took place on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the North Park Boat House. The weather held up and we had a great turnout! Thanks to all who came for the race, stayed for the picnic and helped make a difference. NEXT YEAR’S RACE WILL BE HELD ON JULY 30, 2017. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR ELORAPALOOZA 12!
The success of Elorapalooza depends on the generosity of people and organizations that recognize the importance of participation in activities that benefit our society. Their involvement demonstrates a willingness to take an active role in helping others.
If you’re interested in making a donation to the Elora’s H.O.P.E. Fund, you can do so by visiting the Fund’s page at The Pittsburgh Foundation. Donations support patients with blood cancer and future Special Education teachers.
We are pleased to now be associated with the Pittsburgh Foundation as we continue our efforts to help others in memory of Elora.
